IRS Releases 2026 Health and Welfare Plan Limits
The IRS just announced the 2026 health and welfare plan limits, impacting health care FSAs and transit/parking limits.
For 2026, the IRS has increased limits for several health and welfare plans. The Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA) contribution limit is now $3,400, up from $3,300 in 2025. The carryover limit is now $680, up from $660 in 2025. For High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs), the minimum deductible is $1,700 (self-only) or $3,400 (family), and the maximum out-of-pocket expenses are $8,500 (self-only) or $17,000 (family).
Once the IRS publishes the 2026 retirement plan adjusted limits, Kushner & Company will update the annual table showing all new plan limits.
